A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village.
An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman
on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.
"Not very long," answered the Mexican.

I was just cruising around on You Tube and came across some extrodinarily moving acts from a show "Britains got Talent". Click here to go to the video section and have a look at some of them. If you've got speakers turn them up as they are brilliant. My favourite is Paul. |

The boys had their first soccer game today for this season. Charlie, playing in the under eights "Hounds", had a convincing win over Brunswick Heads (9:0) whilst Lachlan's team played a fantastic match in Ballina finally conceding defeat by only 1 goal. At the request of several parents, I have put up some photos of the Brunswick game. Click here for gallery |

We took off to Burleigh Heads for 4 nights for a little holiday, staying in a resort that had all those joys like a pool, hot spa, tennis court, gym and games room. Simon was also happy that there was internet access in the apartment! Lachlan enjoyed being able to get to the beach with his body board in 2 minutes and
Charlie loved the walking machine in the gym, as well as being boss of
the lift. Kristen loved not having to cook and having the family
together instead of spread around the neighbourhood. |

70th birthday. Of course, Mum doesnt quite know how she got to be the
regal age of 70 and she insists she doesnt feel too much older than
when she was a spring chicken. My Aunt and Uncle, Ross and Diana came,

2007 has been the year of the swimming pool in the Helps house. After resisting the pleas from the boys for many years, Kristen finally caved in to the pressure, but only when she realised we were getting the budget model. Simon then proceeded to make the budget pool as much like a $30 000 pool as possible

We decided to have Christmas at home this year because its so nice waking up in your own bed on Christmas morning. We were joined by Nigel and Ruth and family, here to enjoy the delights of Bangalow in the summer. Wed warned them how hot and humid it would be and how packed the beaches would be

I finally returned to Bali after going there with my Gamelan group from Uni when I was 20. This time I was alone and ready to relax after a madly busy year at work. I went straight to Ubud, arriving there the night before the Kaningan festival. I woke up to find everyone dressed up for the celebrations and most of the shops closed for the day which was a good start to a wonderful holiday.
